From 2022 to 2023, FarmLab was one of 18 labs selected to participate in SheMakes.eu, an Horizon 2020 project dedicated to empowering future female innovators in the sustainable fashion industry through inspiration, skills, and networks.

As part of this collective research, FarmLab focused on wool, female entrepreneurship, and innovation. Our contributions included mapping the Austrian wool ecosystem through video interviews, questionnaires, and geographic data, developing an open-source carding machine, and organizing a series of experiments and workshops on natural dyes. This work highlighted the intersection of traditional practices and modern innovation, fostering knowledge exchange and sustainable solutions.
